The quality of E-content depends on how the process is carried, what Content taught and how it is presented.
Switching from traditional textbooks to digital Course materials is a growing trend in school and higher education E-content is the need of the hour. E-content is a very powerful tool of education It is the latest method of instruction that has attracted attention of learners and teachers of all instruction Systems. E-Content can satisfy minimization of distance, cost effectiveness, uses friendly and adaptability to local conditions.
OBJECTIVES OF E-CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
- To store, preserve and provide access to a variety of digital resources to students and teachers
- Enable the participation of community in the development and sharing of digital resources
- To enhance the quality of the education system the country
- To facilitate teachers to create and share contextual teaching and learning resources
- To celebrate innovations in resource creation
BENEFITS OF E-CONTENT
- E-content is valuable to pupil and teacher of individual instructional system
- E-content abolishes the disparity among the harness
- Motivates students through appropriate use of interactive courseware
- E-content provides a student centered learning environment
ADDIE MODEL
The ADDIE model for E-learning is a good template for developing F-content The model comprises of five phases.
ANALYSIS: The analyses phase is the foundation for all other phases of instructional design During this phase, the investigates defines the problem, identifies the source of the problem and determines possible solutions The outputs of analysis phase will be the inputs for design phase
DESIGN: The design phase encompasses formulating a set of anticipated learning outcomes of objectives of the course, defining the sequential order on which the objectives should be achieved the outcome of design phase serves as a blueprint for the developmental phase
DEVELOPMENT: The purpose of this phase is to generate the F-content Product The author constructs and develops the e-package with the help of hardware and Software The development of multimedia interactive content comprises of content development, storyboard development and courseware development
IMPLEMENTATION: The implementation phase refers to the actual delivery of the instruction, whether it is classroom based, lab based on web based This phase focuses on tryout and learners training Feedbacks and comments at this stage regarding the courseware helps us to mates improvement is E-content development
EVALUATION: The evaluation process occurs throughout the entire instructional design process within phases, between phases and after implementation. The developer Should evaluate learner's reaction, the achievement of learning objectives, the transfer of intended knowledge and Skills The F-Content developer reflects upon the evaluation results so as to ensure improvements in his future works.
