Christmas Celebration

Christmas, the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ, is the religious and cultural festival celebrated by billions of people worldwide. It is the festival of joy, hope, and happiness, celebrated by all, irrespective of religion. 

We, the student-teachers of KUCTE, Kulakkada, also celebrated Christmas by singing carol songs, exchanging gifts, praying for the welfare of humanity, and cutting cake. The college union arranged crib making, gift wrapping, and a carol song competition to make the day more special. The day ended with a treasure hunt, where the students of Social Science became the winners. 

Treasure Hunt

 As part of the Christmas celebration, the 'Neethi' association organized a treasure hunt competition on 15th December 2023. This was an inter-department competition.

 

World Aids Day

 On behalf of the NEETHI association, the Social Science department students observed World Aids Day and organized an Essay writing competition on "Let communities lead" on 1st December 2023. We also conducted a special assembly on the same day and took an oath to stand against the spread of the disease. An awareness class to solve the misconception regarding the disease was also organized, and we supported and provided solidarity to all Aids patients by wearing red ribbons and lighting candles. 

Union Election

The election for the college union of KUCTE Kulakkada for the academic year 2023-24 was held on 24th November at the college. The oath-taking ceremony of elected members was also conducted on the same day under the guidance of the college principal and staff advisor.

വാഗമൺ - ഒരു പഠനയാത്ര

 സന്തോഷത്തിനപ്പുറം , യാത്രകൾ എന്നും ഫലപ്രദമായ ഒരു വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മാർഗ്ഗം കൂടിയാണ്. അവ അടച്ചിട്ട ക്ലാസ്സ്‌റൂം ചുവരുകൾക്കപ്പുറമുള്ള ലോകത്തെ കാണാനും അത് അനുഭവിക്കാനുമുള്ള  അവസരം നമ്മൾക്ക് നേടി തരുന്നു. യാത്രകൾ പോകുന്നത് നമ്മൾക്ക് പ്രിയപെട്ടവരുമൊത്താണെങ്കിൽ  അത് ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കലും മറക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്ത ചില നല്ല നിമിഷങ്ങൾ നമ്മൾക്ക് സമ്മാനിക്കുന്നു.

അത്തരത്തിൽ ഒരു പിടി നല്ല ഓർമകൾ എനിക്ക് സമ്മാനിച്ച ഒരു പഠന യാത്രയായിരുന്നു  കുളക്കട KUCTE യിൽ നിന്നും ഞങ്ങൾ 55 സഹപാഠികൾ ചേർന്നുള്ള വാഗമണിലേക്കുള്ള ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഫീൽഡ് ട്രിപ്പ് . 

കേരളത്തിലെ ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയിലെ പീരുമേട് താലൂക്കിലും കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ മീനച്ചിൽ താലൂക്കിലും  , കാഞ്ഞിരപ്പള്ളി താലൂക്കിലുമായി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന 1100 മീറ്റർ സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്നും ഉയർന്നുകിടക്കുന്ന പച്ചപരവതാനിവിരിച്ച  അതിമനോഹരമായ ഒരു ഹിൽ സ്റ്റേഷനാണ് വാഗമൺ. 

ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും നീളം കൂടിയ ക്യാന്റിലിവർ ഗ്ലാസ്സ്‌ ബ്രിഡ്‌ജ്‌, ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാർ 1926 യിൽ സ്ഥാപിച്ച തേയില തോട്ടങ്ങൾ, അഡ്വെഞ്ചർ പാർക്ക്, പൈൻ കാട് , കുരിശുമല, തണുത്ത കാലാവസ്ഥ എന്നിവയെല്ലാംതന്നെ വാഗമണിനെ വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളുടെ ഇഷ്ടയിടമാക്കി. 

എത്ര മനോഹരമായാണ് വാഗമൺ പോലെ ഒരു ഇക്കോ ടൂറിസം സെന്റർ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് കണ്ടു മനസ്സിലാക്കുവാൻ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് സാധിച്ചു. 

വാഗമണിലെ അഡ്വെഞ്ചർ പാർക്കിന്റെ മുഖ്യ ആകർഷണം ക്യാന്റിലിവർ ഗ്ലാസ്സ്‌ ബ്രിഡ്‌ജ്‌ ആണ്. കൂടാതെ പാരഗ്ലൈഡിങ്, സിപ് ലൈൻ, ബൻജീ ട്രംപോളിൻ എന്നി റിക്രിയേഷണൽ ആക്ടിവിറ്റീസും ഉണ്ട്.   

പൈൻ ഫോറെസ്റ് 

മനോഹരമായ  കാഴ്ചയും ഹൃദ്യമായ അനുഭവവും പൈൻ ഫോറെസ്റ് നമ്മൾക്ക് നൽകുന്നു.  ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഭരണകാലത്തു മനുഷ്യനിർമിതമായ സ്ഥാപിച്ച കാടാണിത്. വാഗമൺ യാത്രയിൽ ഒഴിവാക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്ത ഒരിടമാണിത്. പൈൻ ഫോറെസ്റ്റിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയിൽ ധാരാളം ചെറിയ കച്ചവടങ്ങൾ കാണാൻ സാധിക്കും. വാഗമണിലെ തന്നെ തേയില , കാപ്പിപ്പൊടി, ഹോംമെയ്ഡ് ചോക്ലേറ്റ് , തേൻ എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രധാനമായും വിൽക്കുന്നത്. ഈ പ്രദേശത്തു വസിക്കുന്നവരുടെ പ്രധാന വരുമാന മാർഗ്ഗം കൂടിയാണിത്.

Children's day

 Children's Day in India is celebrated as the birthday of our country's first Prime minister and modern India's architect on 14 November every year. He is remembered as Chachaji because of his fondness for children. 

On behalf of the NEETHI association, the Social Science department students organized a drawing competition as part of the Children's Day on the 20th of November 2023,at the college, on the theme "For every child, every right."

Ignited Minds

 Ignited Minds by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is a genuinely inspiring book that reminds us about our incredible potential and urges us to make a difference in our lives and country. He encouraged the readers to have faith and confidence in themselves and overcome all life obstacles with determination and perseverance. 

NSS Cancer Awareness Campaign

As part of the National Cancer Awareness Day, NSS volunteers of Kerala University College of Teacher Education, Kulakkada, organized a Cancer awareness campaign at the sub-district youth festival held at Government Higher Secondary School, Kulakkada, on 13th, 14th & 15th of November 2023. During these three days, NSS volunteers distributed handwritten cancer awareness notes to festival attendees. The prime objective of this campaign was to create awareness about cancer and clarify some of the misconceptions about the same.

Sub District Youth Festival

 Kulakkada Sub-district youth festival for the academic year 2023-24 was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Kulakkada. The student-teachers of KUCTE, Kulakkada, assisted the officials in conducting this festival.

Dr. Shaji A., Programme Co-ordinator of the National Service Scheme, University of Kerala, visited KUCTE, Kulakkada, and observed the craft works created by NSS volunteers.   

Capacity Building Programme

 Since 2014, National Cancer Awareness Day in India has been observed on November 7 to create awareness among people about early detection, prevention, and proper treatment and medication of this deadly disease. It also urges for an immediate lifestyle change.

For the Capacity Building Programme proposed by the University of Kerala for the B.Ed. Course, we selected the same day to be observed and conducted an awareness programme named as "HOPE" . The objective of this programme was to acquaint with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute a function successfully, provide proper awareness about cancer, and remove any misconceptions about this disease among the audience. 

This programme was inaugurated by Shri. Gopalakrishna Pillai (Assistant Professor in Physical Education) by lighting the lamp. He also shared his experience of overcoming this disease. Smt. Smitha T.S. and Dr.Durga Lekshmi G.S. (Assistant Professor in Perspectives in Education) also attended the inaugural session.  

This programme included an awareness class, an exhibition of awareness posters, a Rally of student-teachers guided by the college Principal, a video presentation about the causes and types of cancer, and cultural activities, including a mime, dance, and skit. Students of Government Higher Secondary School, Kulakkada were also invited to this programme. 

യോഗ

 

"യുജ്" എന്ന സംസ്‌കൃത പദത്തിൽനിന്നും രൂപപ്പെട്ട യോഗ , അയ്യായിരത്തോളം വർഷങ്ങൾക്കുമുൻപ് ഭാരതത്തിലാണ് ഉത്ഭവിച്ചത്. യോഗയെ പൊതുവെ ഒരു ശാരീരിക വ്യായാമ മുറയായി കണക്കാക്കാറുണ്ടെങ്കിലും , അതൊരു ശാസ്‌ത്രമാണ് , അതിലുപരി യോഗ ഒരു ജീവിതചര്യ കൂടിയാണ്. മനുഷ്യമനസ്സിന്റെ സന്തുലനവും ഏകോപനവും മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുക , രക്തസമ്മർദം കുറയ്ക്കുക , ശ്വാസകോശ ശേഷി മെച്ചപെടുത്തുക , പ്രമേഹം, ഉത്കണ്ഠ, ഹൃദ്‌രോഗ സാധ്യതകൾ എന്നിവ കുറച്ചു ശരീരത്തിന്റെ സന്തുലിതാവസ്ഥ നിലനിർത്തുക എന്നിവയെല്ലാം യോഗയുടെ ഗുണങ്ങളാണ്.

KUCTE കുളക്കടയിലെ B.Ed. വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ ഫിസിക്കൽ എഡ്യൂക്കേഷൻ അധ്യാപകൻ ശ്രി ഗോപാലകൃഷ്ണ പിള്ളയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ യോഗ പരിശീലിക്കുന്നു. 

കേരളപ്പിറവി ദിനം

വൈവിദ്ധ്യമാര്‍ന്ന ഭൂപ്രകൃതി , പാരമ്പര്യം , ധാന്യ മത്സ്യ വന്യ സമ്പത്ത് എന്നിവയാൽ സമ്പുഷ്ടമായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വന്തം നാടായ കേരളം 1956 നവംബർ ഒന്നിനാണ് രൂപംകൊണ്ടത്. മലബാര്‍, കൊച്ചി, തിരുവിതാംകൂര്‍ എന്നീ പ്രദേശങ്ങള്‍ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്താണ്  ഇന്ത്യയുടെ തെക്കു പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ  സംസ്ഥാനമായി നമ്മുടെ കേരളം രൂപീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്. അതിനാൽ കേരളം രൂപംകൊണ്ട നവംബർ ഒന്ന് കേരള പിറവി ദിനമായി നാം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. കേരളത്തിന്റെ ജന്മദിനമാണ്  കേരളപ്പിറവി ദിനം. 

കുളക്കട കെ. യു. സി. ടി. ഇ. യിലെ സാമൂഹ്യ ശാസ്ത്ര വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ  "നീതി" അസ്സോസിയേഷൻ്റെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ  കേരള പിറവി ദിനത്തോട് അനുബന്ധിച്ചു ഇന്റർ ഡിപ്പാർട്മെൻറ് നാടൻപാട്ട് മത്സരം നടത്തുകയുണ്ടായി.  കോളേജിലെ ഫിസിക്കൽ സയൻസ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ ആയിരുന്നു വിജയികൾ. 

School Initiatory Experience

 The School induction program or the school initiatory experience in the B.Ed. curriculum aims to impart student-teachers an opportunity to acquaint themselves with the school environment and their day-to-day functioning, observe and understand the activities of teachers, and learn about classroom management. 

A team of 13 student-teachers of KUCTE Kulakkada was sent to the Government Higher Secondary School, Puthoor, for a period of five continuous working days, for the same.

The school induction program was an excellent experience for me to realize the role of teachers and their influence on students, as well as the patience and efficiency teachers should have. 

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

 The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is observed each year to reduce the adverse effects of poverty on people and raise their standard of living by addressing the root causes of poverty and ensuring them with basic necessities. 

As part of the subject association activity, the Department of Social Science (KUCTE, Kulakkada), in association with the Government Higher Secondary School, Kulakkada, organized a slogan-making competition for high school students. The theme for the competition was 'End Poverty.' The members of the Social Science Association were the student coordinators.

Subject Association

The B.Ed. Course of Kerala University suggests a Subject association activity, based on Optional group, which involves the participation and contribution of student-teacher in the subject-related activities. The Subject Association of Social Science optional for the academic year 2023-25 is named "NEETHI" and was inaugurated by 

Shri. Harikrishnan R S (Assistant Educational Officer, Kulakkada) and Smt. Bini T R (Assistant Professor in Social Science, KUCTE, Kulakkada) revealed the association's Logo. The program included a video presentation, a quiz session, and the prize distribution to the winners of the Gandhi Jayanti Quiz competition.

വിജ്ഞാന

 The official inaugural function of the course of KUCTE Kulakkada for the academic year 2023-25 was held on 11th October, at the general Hall of the Campus. The college Principal, Dr. Sheeba L, inaugurated the function in the presence of teachers, parents, and students.

Orientation Class in Artisanal Bakery

 Home baking is an excellent source of income for homemakers if made with more outstanding care in preparation, baking, and delivery. ASAP Community Skill Park, Kulakkada conducted an Orientation class in Artisanal Bakery for B.Ed. students of KUCTE, Kulakkada.
